Man arrested on robbery charge in Lewiston

LEWISTON, ME — A transient man was arrested following a bank robbery at Maine Family Credit Union on Monday afternoon.

Donald White, 46, entered the credit union at 555 Sabattus St. and demanded cash from a teller at approximately 3:30 p.m., according to the Lewiston Police Department.

Police conducted an extensive search of the surrounding area with assistance from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.

Investigators used a drone and a police K-9 team in an effort to locate the suspect.

White was eventually located and arrested.

He was charged with robbery, theft by unauthorized taking and violating conditions of release.
