DORCHESTER, MA — A 47-year-old man was arrested early Wednesday following a stabbing incident that stemmed from a dispute over a parking space after a recent winter storm.
Officers assigned to District B-3 responded to a radio call for a person stabbed in the area of 59 Evans Street at approximately 1:25 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers observed three individuals standing on the sidewalk outside the address.
A 41-year-old male and a 47-year-old female were both suffering from significant bleeding to their hands.
Blood was also observed on the sidewalk, walkway, and nearby snowbanks.
Officers detained the third individual, later identified as Enel Janvier of Dorchester, while rendering immediate aid to the injured parties.
Boston EMS responded to the scene and transported both victims to local hospitals for treatment.
Through investigation by responding officers and District B-3 detectives, it was determined that the incident originated from a dispute over a shoveled parking space.
Investigators learned that the male victim arrived at the location and observed Janvier’s vehicle parked in a space he believed he had personally cleared of snow.
A confrontation followed, which escalated into a physical altercation.
During the altercation, Janvier allegedly stabbed the male victim in the hand with a knife.
The female victim sustained an injury to her hand while attempting to intervene and disarm him.
Janvier was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on a charge of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) Causing Serious Bodily Injury.
