PALMYRA, NY — New York State Police arrested a 34-year-old man following an investigation into the online distribution and possession of child sexual exploitation material.
William Bond, of Palmyra, was taken into custody on January 31 and charged with promoting a sexual performance by a child less than 17 years of age, a class D felony, and possessing a sexual performance by a child less than 16 years of age, a class E felony.
The investigation began after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a CyberTipline report on October 6 regarding the upload of apparent child pornography that occurred on September 23, 2024.
New York State Police investigators determined Bond was responsible for the upload.
On January 23, members of the New York State Police executed a search warrant at Bond’s residence in the Town of Palmyra and seized multiple electronic devices.
The devices were examined at the New York State Police Computer Crime Laboratory in Albany, where several were found to contain child pornography.
Bond was processed at State Police Lyons and transported to the Wayne County Jail for centralized arraignment.
