Hit-and-run crash injures pedestrian in Rome

ROME, NY — A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash on West Court Street on Feb. 3, 2026.

The Rome Police Department responded to the 400 block of West Court Street at approximately 11:40 a.m. for a report of a motor vehicle-pedestrian collision.

A woman was struck by a dark-colored Ford SUV traveling eastbound on West Court Street.

The suspect vehicle fled the scene toward North Madison Street.

AmCare Ambulance transported the woman to an area hospital.

She was subsequently flown by Mercy Flight to an area trauma center for evaluation and treatment.

The woman is in critical but stable condition.

The Rome Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect vehicle involved in the incident.
