NORFOLK, NY — New York State Police charged Brian C. Cruz, 36, of Norfolk, with assault in the third degree and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child on January 30, 2026.
Troopers responded to State Route 56 in the town of Norfolk at approximately 2:34 p.m. for a reported domestic dispute.
An investigation determined that Cruz and the victim were involved in a verbal argument that escalated into a physical altercation, during which Cruz struck the victim in the face with an energy drink, causing bruising.
Cruz was arrested and transported to SP Massena for processing.
He was arraigned in the Town of Norfolk Court and released on his own recognizance.
