NORWICH, NY — A 42-year-old man was arrested Jan. 27, 2026, after deputies responded to a report of a larceny in progress at a business.
Ryan C. Barnhart, of Guilford, was charged with petit larceny and tampering with physical evidence, according to the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a business for a larceny in progress but were advised prior to arrival that the suspect had fled the scene.
Deputies located Barnhart at a different address in Norwich.
He was taken into custody after deputies found some of the merchandise concealed in the vehicle he was in.
Barnhart was released on an appearance ticket to appear in Norwich Town Court.
