CLINTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — A man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police found him unconscious in a parked vehicle on Dec. 24.
Clinton Township Police Department received a report of an unresponsive male in a Dodge Ram pickup truck in the parking lot of a local bank.
Responding officers observed the driver, Paul A. Villano, 56, of Portland, Pennsylvania, slumped over in his seat.
Officers interacted with Villano to assess his wellbeing.
Villano exhibited signs of intoxication, and Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were administered.
The tests were not completed as directed, and Villano was placed under arrest.
His vehicle was impounded.
He was transported to police headquarters where he consented to chemical testing of his breath.
Test results revealed that his blood alcohol concentration level exceeded the legal threshold.
Villano was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, possession of an open, unsealed alcoholic beverage container, and consumption of alcoholic beverages in a motor vehicle.
He received copies of his charges and was subsequently transported to the Hunterdon County Jail.
