WOODBURY, NJ — Firefighters responded to a natural gas odor at the GG Green Building on Wednesday afternoon.
The Woodbury Fire Department was dispatched to 108 S. Broad Street at approximately 4 p.m. for a reported odor of natural gas inside the building.
Ladder 5 arrived on location and detected an odor on the fourth floor.
Battalion 5 requested additional companies from Mantua, West Deptford and Deptford, equivalent to a full-size box alarm, and requested PSE&G to respond to the scene.
The Woodbury Police Department temporarily shut down Broad Street while fire apparatus were on scene.
With the assistance of PSE&G, the source of the odor was located in an apartment on the fourth floor.
The situation was placed under control, and residents were safely returned to their apartments.
No injuries were reported and there was no threat to the public.
Also on location were the Woodbury Police Department, Woodbury Office of Emergency Management and Gloucester County EMS.
