WHITESTOWN, NY — Joseph Mickle, 39, of Rome, was arrested Jan. 29 and charged with two counts of criminal contempt in the second degree after allegedly violating an active stay away order of protection.
According to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, Mickle is accused of making phone contact on Jan. 5 with two children for whom the order of protection had been issued.
The investigation was led by Sergeant Melissa Bolton of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center.
Mickle is currently incarcerated at the Oneida County Correctional Facility as a result of a previous investigation.
He was arraigned at Centralized Arraignment Court and is being held on $25,000 cash bail, $75,000 bail bond, or $200,000 partially secured surety bond.
Mickle is scheduled to appear in Whitestown Court at a later date.
