DAVENPORT, NY — A Davenport man was arrested Monday on charges related to alleged sex abuse involving juveniles, the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Deputies responded on Jan. 17 to a sex abuse complaint involving a child.

The preliminary investigation indicated that Daniel S.R. Roe, 30, of Davenport, was alleged to have subjected a juvenile to sexual contact in May 2024.

Roe was also accused of engaging in inappropriate sexual conversations with another juvenile during the same period.

Investigators from the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division conducted multiple forensic interviews at the Delaware County Child Advocacy Center with the victims and witnesses.

Roe was arrested Jan. 27 on two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and one count each of forcible touching and sexual abuse in the third degree, all misdemeanors under New York State law.

He was arraigned at Delaware County Centralized Arraignment Court, where orders of protection were issued for the victims.

Roe was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear at the Town of Davenport Court at a later date.
