Man arrested, juvenile cited after reported car break-ins in Hopkinton

HOPKINTON, MA — Police arrested a man and cited a juvenile after responding to reports of car break-ins in the parking lot of Constitution Court early Jan. 30.

According to the Hopkinton Police Department, at approximately 3:39 a.m., the Public Safety Communications Center received a call reporting two males pulling on door handles and looking in car windows.

Officers were dispatched to the scene, where Officer Creedon located two males matching the description provided, leaving the parking lot on foot.

Sergeant Normandin and Officer Manning arrived soon after to assist.

During the investigation, one adult male was found in possession of an item determined to have been taken from a vehicle in the area.

The adult male was taken into custody.

Police said the other person involved, a juvenile male, will be issued a court summons, and was released to the custody of his parent after being transported home by police.

Charges for the adult male include breaking into a depository, larceny under $1,200, receiving stolen property under $1,200, and conspiracy.

The juvenile’s charges are pending further investigation.
