BATH, NY — Police arrested a Bath man early Jan. 26 after responding to a domestic disturbance at a residence on West Morris Street.
Officers from the Village of Bath Police Department arrived around 4:53 a.m. and found a female victim who appeared to be injured, along with the suspect, identified as Robert E.M. Wright, 43, of Bath.
As officers attempted to detain Wright for further investigation, he physically resisted.
Officers used a drive stun tase for pain compliance.
After a brief struggle, Wright was placed in handcuffs, but continued to resist.
Additional officers arrived and assisted in securing Wright into a patrol car.
According to police, an investigation revealed Wright had choked the victim before officers arrived.
Wright was arrested and charged with obstructing governmental administration, criminal obstruction of breathing, and resisting arrest, all Class A misdemeanors.
He was processed and transported to the Steuben County Jail for CAP arraignment, where he remains held with the opportunity for bail.
