NEWBURY, VT — A Newport man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs following a motor vehicle crash on Interstate 91 Sunday night.
Kyle Hawksworth, 46, of Newport was taken into custody after troopers from the St. Johnsbury barracks responded to a report of a crash on Interstate 91 southbound near mile marker 104 at approximately 8:57 p.m. Jan. 26.
While speaking with Hawksworth, troopers observed signs of impairment, according to Vermont State Police.
Hawksworth was transported to the Vermont State Police St. Johnsbury barracks for processing.
He was cited on charges of driving under the influence of drugs and possession of cocaine.
Hawksworth was released and is scheduled to appear in Orange County Superior Court on March 30 at 8:30 a.m.
