Man arrested on warrant in Saint Johnsbury

SAINT JOHNSBURY, VT — A Connecticut man was arrested on an outstanding warrant following a traffic stop late Tuesday night.

Garth Nairne, 21, of Hartford, Connecticut, was taken into custody at approximately 11:52 p.m. on Railroad Street.

Troopers from the Vermont State Police St. Johnsbury Barracks were on patrol when they observed a motor vehicle violation and initiated a traffic stop.

During the stop, troopers learned that Nairne, a passenger in the vehicle, had an outstanding warrant.

The warrant was for disorderly conduct.

After confirming the warrant, Nairne was arrested and transported to the Vermont State Police St. Johnsbury Barracks for processing.

He was cited to appear in Caledonia County Superior Court on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m.

Nairne was then transported to Northeast Correctional Complex, where he was held on $200 bail.
