TORREY, NY — Two Florida residents face multiple charges following a vehicle pursuit that began in Yates County and ended with their arrest in Geneva on Tuesday afternoon.
Yates County Sheriff’s deputies attempted to stop a dark green Mercedes-Benz on State Route 14 in the Town of Torrey at 3:42 p.m.
The vehicle fled northbound, and deputies pursued it with assistance from a New York State Trooper.
The pursuit entered Ontario County and was terminated in the City of Geneva.
Shortly after the pursuit ended, the occupants were observed fleeing on foot from the vehicle on Grove Street.
Geneva City Police, Ontario County Sheriff’s deputies and New York State Police established a perimeter, and the suspects were quickly located and arrested.
A stolen handgun was recovered from the scene.
Alex Valcin, 22, of Delray Beach, Florida, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree, unlawfully fleeing a police officer, reckless endangerment, reckless driving and numerous vehicle and traffic infractions.
Briana S. Rejouis, 21, of Delray Beach, Florida, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree.
Both were transported to the Yates County Jail for arraignment.
