TILDEN TOWNSHIP, PA — Police have charged a nursing home employee with indecent assault following an alleged incident involving an 83-year-old resident.

The Genesis Healthcare Laurel Center reported the alleged sexual assault to Tilden Township Police on Jan. 21, 2026.

Police met with the victim the same day.

The victim told police that a male staff member had indecent contact without her consent on Jan. 20, 2026, while he was performing hygiene tasks.

The victim said the staff member spoke to her and made an inappropriate facial gesture during the alleged assault.

Police interviewed the staff member, Michael Siaway, 52, of Sinking Spring, on Jan. 22, 2026.

Siaway acknowledged performing hygiene tasks on the victim but did not characterize his actions as inappropriate.

He told police the facial gesture was due to a medical condition, but officers did not observe that condition during the interview.

Police filed a criminal complaint and affidavit against Siaway on Jan. 27, 2026, charging him with misdemeanor indecent assault.
