KIRKLAND, NY — A man died following a single-vehicle crash on Bristol Road on Jan. 28, 2026.
Deputies were dispatched to the area around 10:20 a.m. for a personal injury accident, according to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol.
An investigation revealed the male driver had been operating a black 2025 Nissan Rogue northbound on Bristol Road when he began to lose control of the vehicle.
The driver nearly struck a mailbox on the eastern shoulder before crossing into the southbound lane, according to the investigation.
The vehicle then struck an earth embankment on the western shoulder, causing it to come to rest.
Life-saving measures were attempted, but the man was pronounced dead shortly after first responders arrived.
The name of the deceased has not been released.
The circumstances surrounding the accident remain under investigation.
The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Kovac Ambulance, the Clinton Fire Department and Clinton Collision.
