SAINT JOHNSBURY, VT — A 51-year-old man was arrested Sunday after police say he broke into an apartment and damaged property.
The Vermont State Police responded to a report of an active theft at 32 Avenue C at 5:32 p.m. Jan. 26.
Troopers spoke with Lonnie Abbott, 51, of Saint Johnsbury, at the scene.
After further investigation, police determined Abbott had broken into apartment 16 at the address and caused damage to a window on the property.
Abbott was charged with unlawful mischief and unlawful trespass.
The victim was identified as Debbie Virella, 45, of Pennsylvania.
