HENRIETTA TOWNSHIP, MI — Two Jackson women were seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon at the intersection of Bunkerhill Road and Berry Road.
The crash occurred at approximately 2:45 p.m. when a blue 2016 Ford Focus driven by a 42-year-old Webberville man was traveling northbound on Bunkerhill Road.
The driver entered the southbound lanes while attempting to avoid a stopped vehicle and collided with a southbound black 2007 Ford Fusion, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
The driver of the Ford Fusion, a 54-year-old Jackson woman, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital.
A passenger in the Ford Fusion, a 65-year-old Jackson woman, was also transported to Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital and remains in critical condition.
Evidence suggests inclement weather was a contributing factor in the collision, according to Sheriff Gary Schuette.
It is unknown if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
The Jackson County Sheriff Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating.
