Two arrested on shoplifting charges in Wayne

WAYNE, NJ — Two women were arrested Jan. 15 in connection with thefts totaling more than $15,000 from the Apple Store at Willowbrook Mall.

Angelina Miclescu, 18, of Harrington Park, and Irina Bacelan, 23, of Harrington Park, were each charged with second-degree shoplifting as part of an organized retail theft crew.

Wayne police officers responded to the Apple Store on Jan. 2 and Jan. 11 for reports of stolen iPhones.

Detectives Tom Cydzik and Michael McLaughlin determined the same suspects were involved in both incidents and learned they were connected to numerous thefts throughout the state.

The detectives obtained the license plate number of a suspect vehicle, which was later located and stopped by Fort Lee police.

Two female suspects were identified and released at that time.

Millburn police stopped and arrested the same two women Jan. 15 for a theft in their jurisdiction.

Wayne police took custody of the suspects from Millburn police and processed them on Wayne warrants.

Both women were transported to the Passaic County Jail Intake Hub.

Two unidentified male suspects involved in the thefts remain outstanding.
