Woman charged with fraud in Wilton

WILTON, NY — A woman was arrested Thursday on charges of depositing a fraudulent U.S. Treasury check and stealing more than $3,000 from a credit union.

Jessica L. Baker, 44, of Wilton, was taken into custody on an arrest warrant issued by Wilton Town Court.

She is charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument in the first degree, a class C felony, and grand larceny in the third degree, a class D felony.

Baker is accused of depositing an altered U.S. Treasury check into her account at a credit union in Wilton on Dec. 17.

She allegedly withdrew more than $3,000 from the fraudulent check.

Baker was arraigned before Judge David R. Towne in Wilton Town Court.

She was remanded to the Saratoga County Jail pending further proceedings.
