STILLWATER, NY — A 43-year-old woman faces multiple charges after allegedly violating an order of protection and displaying a stun gun near children during a domestic incident early Friday.
The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office responded to an active domestic incident call at 1:10 a.m. on Dorchester Drive.
Tanya M. Wason, of Stillwater, was arrested and charged with criminal contempt in the first degree, a class E felony.
She also faces charges of aggravated harassment in the second degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, all class A misdemeanors.
Authorities say Wason violated an order of protection by attempting to place the protected person in reasonable fear of physical injury by displaying an electronic stun gun.
She allegedly arced the stun gun while two minor children were in close proximity.
Wason also allegedly threatened to kill the protected person via text message.
She was arraigned before the Honorable Joseph V. Fodera in Halfmoon Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Jail pending further proceedings in Stillwater Town Court.
