Two arrested in Meriden homicide investigation

MERIDEN, CT — Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a 22-year-old man earlier this month.

Aren Scott and Dovone Still were taken into custody Friday in Milford in the death of Deron Johnson.

Meriden police officers were dispatched to the area of Cook Avenue and Summer Street on Jan. 19 at approximately 12:03 p.m. on a report of a person who had been shot.

Upon arrival, officers located Johnson suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

Officers immediately initiated life-saving measures.

Johnson was later pronounced deceased at Mid-State Medical Center.

Both suspects were taken into custody with the assistance of the Milford Police Department without incident.

Johnson’s immediate family has been notified of the arrests.

The investigation was conducted with the assistance of the New Haven State’s Attorney office, Milford Police Department and the Hartford Police Department.
