WHITE OAK, PA — Police have determined that a reported attempted child luring incident was a misunderstanding involving an elderly woman seeking help with snow removal.
The White Oak Borough Police Department received a report on Jan. 23, 2026, of a possible attempted child luring that occurred the previous day.
The incident took place Thursday at the bus stop located at Vermont Avenue and California Avenue between 2:40 p.m. and 3:10 p.m.
Police were not contacted about the incident until the following day.
Officers made contact with the complainant as soon as they were made aware of the incident and initiated an investigation.
The investigation revealed that an elderly woman had asked two children for assistance cleaning snow from her vehicle.
