BATH, NY — A 21-year-old man was arrested after police found him inside a vacant residence on Pine Street on Jan. 23, 2026.
Officers with the Village of Bath Police Department responded to the address at approximately 4:25 p.m. for a report of a male inside the vacant home who did not belong there.
Upon arrival, officers located the suspect, identified as Jason Pierce, 21, from out of state, inside the residence.
Pierce was advised he was under arrest for trespassing but failed to comply with officers and physically resisted arrest, police said.
After a brief struggle, Pierce was taken into custody.
Pierce initially provided officers with a false name and date of birth, according to police.
He was charged with one count of criminal trespass in the second degree, a Class A misdemeanor; one count of resisting arrest, a Class A misdemeanor; and one count of false personation, a Class B misdemeanor.
Pierce was processed and transported to the Steuben County Jail for centralized arraignment.
