ROYALTON, VT — Vermont State Police arrested a motorist on suspicion of driving under the influence after locating his vehicle on the side of Interstate 89 North.
On Jan. 24, 2026 at approximately 10 a.m., Vermont State Police issued a be on the lookout alert for a vehicle traveling erratically on Interstate 91 North in Hartford.
Troopers located the vehicle on the side of the roadway on Interstate 89 North at mile marker 20.8 in Royalton.
Troopers observed multiple indicators of impairment while interacting with the operator, identified as Isaiah Velasquez, 34, of Barre.
Velasquez was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence and transported to the Royalton Barracks for processing.
He was released with a citation to appear in Windsor County Superior Court – Criminal Division at a later date.
This is Velasquez’s second DUI offense.
