GROTON, CT — Police have arrested a man in connection with a burglary at a Groton restaurant last summer.

Town of Groton police responded to a burglar alarm at Olio Restaurant, 33 Kings Highway, at approximately 4:15 a.m. on June 24.

Officers found a damaged door that had been used to gain entry to the restaurant.

The cash drawer was missing from inside the business.

Police processed evidence at the scene and conducted a months-long investigation.

Forensic evidence collected at the crime scene led detectives to identify Javon Young, 48, whose last known address was listed as homeless, as a suspect.

Police obtained a court-signed arrest warrant for Young.

Young was arrested Thursday on the outstanding warrant while already in custody on unrelated charges.

He was presented in New London Superior Court Geographical Area 10 in New London.

Young has been charged with third-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief and sixth-degree larceny.
