Truck crashes into telephone pole in Homer

HOMER, NY — New York State Police responded to a one-vehicle crash on State Route 41 on Jan. 22, 2026.

Troopers from the Homer barracks were dispatched to the scene at approximately 8:15 a.m.

An investigation revealed that a Ryder rental truck was traveling at an unsafe speed when the operator traveled off the roadway and struck a telephone pole.

The operator, Kavion N. Rufus, 22, of Syracuse, was injured in the crash.

Rufus was transported by TLC ambulance to SUNY Upstate University Hospital.
