WEST WARWICK, RI — State Police arrested a West Warwick man on an outstanding bench warrant Wednesday morning.
Dennis J. Clarke, 74, of West Warwick, was taken into custody at 11:01 a.m. following a motor vehicle stop on Brookside Avenue.
Clarke was wanted on a Third Division District Court bench warrant for failure to appear for arraignment on an original charge of vandalizing alarms or call boxes or false alarms.
The warrant originated from the West Warwick Police Department.
Clarke was transported to Third Division District Court for arraignment.
In a separate incident Wednesday, troopers arrested Ryan Tavares, 38, of Fairhaven, Massachusetts, at 11:21 p.m. following a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 in Richmond.
Tavares was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor and or drugs, blood alcohol content unknown, first offense, and refusal to submit to a chemical test, first offense.
He was transported to the State Police Hope Valley Barracks where he was processed and arraigned by a justice of the peace.
Tavares was released with a notice to appear in Fourth Division District Court.
Early Thursday morning, troopers arrested Michael Galindez-Gutierrez, 30, of Providence, at 1:59 a.m. following a motor vehicle stop on Levalley Street in Coventry.
Galindez-Gutierrez was charged with possession of marijuana greater than two ounces.
Police said he possessed nine ounces of marijuana.
He was transported to the State Police Hope Valley Barracks where he was processed and arraigned by a justice of the peace.
Galindez-Gutierrez was released with a future Third District Court date.
