FORKS TOWNSHIP, PA — A man accused of burglarizing a convenience store appeared at a video arraignment on Jan. 15, 2026.
Chad James Hefter appeared before Judge Hutnik while housed at Chester County Prison.
Forks Township police responded to the 611 Food Mart at 1670 North Delaware Drive on March 22 at approximately 3:50 a.m. for a burglary alarm with a glass break.
Officers found a smashed front window, a broken cash register and smashed display case windows.
Video surveillance showed two suspects arriving in a white Pontiac G6, exiting the vehicle and smashing the front window.
The suspects stole $19,963.53 in merchandise and caused $7,411.41 in damages to the business.
Detectives identified the suspect’s vehicle and Hefter as one of the suspects.
An arrest warrant was issued by Judge Hutnik on May 8.
Hefter is charged with one count each of burglary, criminal trespass – break into structure, criminal conspiracy, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, criminal mischief and possessing instruments of crime.
He remains in custody and is scheduled for a formal arraignment on Feb. 19, 2026.
