EAST WINDSOR, NJ — A former school parent organization treasurer is accused of stealing approximately $25,000 from fundraiser accounts.

Allison M. Schneider, 47, of East Windsor, was charged Monday with third-degree theft.

The East Windsor Police Department received a report Oct. 7 regarding missing funds from the Kreps School Parent Teacher Organization’s bank account.

An approximate discrepancy of $10,000 was identified between the actual bank statements and the financial statements previously submitted by Schneider, who served as the former treasurer.

The investigation revealed that a separate bank account had been established into which funds from various PTO fundraisers were deposited between 2021 and 2024.

The account holder was determined to be Schneider, who used the funds for her personal benefit, according to police.

The total amount of misappropriated funds was approximately $25,000.

Schneider responded to police headquarters Monday, where she was served with a complaint summons pending court action.
