AVON, NY — A Mt. Morris woman was arrested on a felony charge following an investigation into a stolen vehicle on Interstate 390.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to the area of Interstate 390 on Jan. 17 for a report of a stolen vehicle.
Deputies began an investigation into the grand larceny and identified a suspect as Kira Moyer, 23, of Mt. Morris.
The Gates Police Department contacted the Sheriff’s Office and advised they had located the vehicle and had Moyer detained.
A second suspect was also identified during the investigation.
Deputy Jerry Pilkenton arrested Moyer and charged her with felony grand larceny in the third degree.
Moyer was transported to the Livingston County Jail for processing and pre-arraignment detention.
She was arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part at the Livingston County Jail before Town of York Justice Koch.
The judge released Moyer on her own recognizance as the offense does not qualify for bail under the New York State Bail Reform Act.
The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office represented Moyer at the arraignment.
The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office represented the People.
Assisting with the investigation were members of the Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division and Forensic Identification Unit, the Gates Police Department and the New York State Police.
