Man found stabbed to death in Manchester

MANCHESTER, NH — Police are investigating the death of a man who was found with a stab wound Monday night.

Officers responded to the area of Barry Avenue and Spruce Street at about 9:20 p.m. Jan. 20 after receiving a 911 call reporting an injured male.

Police found an adult male lying on the ground unconscious with an apparent stab wound to his chest.

The man was transported to Elliot Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Attorney General John M. Formella and Manchester Police Chief Peter A. Marr announced the investigation Tuesday.

An autopsy was scheduled to be conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
