MANCHESTER, NH — A 32-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the Jan. 20 death of a 35-year-old man in the area of Barry Avenue and Spruce Street.
Mark Delisle has been charged with one count of second-degree murder for knowingly stabbing Yan Leek, 35, of Londonderry, according to Attorney General John M. Formella and Manchester Police Chief Peter A. Marr.
An autopsy conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined the cause of Leek’s death was a stab wound to the chest, and the manner of death was homicide.
Delisle is anticipated to be arraigned at the 9th Circuit Court in Manchester tomorrow.
“This arrest was the result of outstanding teamwork; from the officers who responded, to the detectives and evidence technicians who processed the scene, to the keen observation of an officer on a detail who spotted the suspect,” Chief Marr said.
“I’m proud of the professionalism, empathy, and integrity our Manchester police officers bring to this city every day.”
The investigation into Leek’s death is ongoing.
Investigators are continuing to look into the sequence of events leading up to the stabbing and are asking any residents or citizens who may have information and have not already spoken with investigators to contact the Manchester Police Department at 603-792-5518 (Detective Guillaume Joffres) or 603-792-5555 (Detective Harrison Elwell).
