SMYRNA, NY — A man was arrested following a narcotics investigation by the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office.
On Jan. 20, 2026, deputies executed a search warrant in the town of Smyrna as part of a two-month investigation into the sale and distribution of illegal drugs.
During the search, deputies located a quantity of U.S. currency and approximately one pound of methamphetamine packaged for distribution.
Timothy L. Heady, 45, of Smyrna, was taken into custody at the scene.
Heady was charged with four counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree, a class A felony, four counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony, and tampering with physical evidence, a class E felony.
Heady was arraigned in centralized arraignment and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility.
