ITHACA, NY — New York State Police arrested a Syracuse man on child sex abuse material charges on January 16, 2026.
Jonathan D. D’Agostino, 21, of Syracuse, was arrested at approximately 4:48 p.m. and charged with the class D felony of promote a sexual performance by a child less than 17 years of age and the class E felony of possessing sexual performance by a child less than 16.
D’Agostino is accused of possession and promoting child sex abuse material.
The investigation began after State Police received a referral from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding suspicious online activity.
Members of the Troop C Computer Crime Unit and the Ithaca Bureau of Criminal Investigation executed a search warrant on D’Agostino’s residence in September 2025.
D’Agostino was processed at State Police Ithaca and later transported to the Tompkins County Jail for centralized arraignment.
