HOMER, NY — A 20-year-old woman faces multiple charges after a traffic stop on Elm Avenue on Jan. 15.

Heather R. O’Hara, of Homer, was arrested at approximately 10:36 p.m. after an officer with the Homer Police Department stopped a vehicle that was observed speeding on South Main Street.

During the traffic stop, the officer determined O’Hara was operating the motor vehicle while her operating privileges were revoked.

After several warnings to remain in her vehicle, the officer informed her she was under arrest.

While attempting to take O’Hara into custody, she failed to comply with officers’ orders and resisted arrest, kicking the officers multiple times, police said.

O’Hara was taken into custody and transported to the Homer Police Department for processing.

She was released on Jan. 20 on appearance tickets to appear in the Town of Homer Court on Feb. 3 at 5 p.m.

O’Hara is charged with obstruction of governmental administration 2nd degree, resisting arrest, harassment 2nd degree, aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd degree and speeding in a posted zone.

The Homer Police Department was assisted by the New York State Police during the incident.
