SAUGERTIES, NY — A 56-year-old man was arrested following a dispute on Jan. 19, 2026.
John M. Rich, of Saugerties, was taken into custody at approximately 10:55 p.m. after police received a call regarding a dispute.
Following an investigation, Rich was charged with felony criminal contempt in the first degree.
He also faces misdemeanor charges of menacing in the third degree, criminal mischief in the fourth degree and endangering the welfare of a child.
Rich was processed at the Saugerties Police Department and transported to CAP court for arraignment.
New York State Police assisted at the scene.
