UTICA, NY — A man was arrested on burglary and larceny charges after allegedly stealing from a grocery store where he had been previously banned.
Utica police responded to Hannaford on Mohawk Street at approximately 8:10 a.m. on Jan. 20, 2026, for a report of a larceny.
Store employees told officers a man entered the store, stole property and left.
Employees said the man had previously been issued a ban letter due to prior thefts at the store.
Officers conducted an area check and located the suspect.
Brian Gunn, 48, of Utica, was taken into custody and transported to the Utica Police Department.
Gunn was charged with third-degree burglary and petit larceny.
