AVON, NY — A Monroe County man faces felony charges following a burglary at a gas station on Christmas Eve.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Quicklee’s gas station in Avon at approximately 6:51 a.m. on Dec. 24 for a report of a burglary.
A person had entered the business and stolen multiple cartons of cigarettes before leaving in a vehicle, according to the report.
Edward Perdue, 65, of Monroe County, entered the business with another individual and stole property, according to the investigation.
Sheriff’s Investigators Ross Gerace and Michael Wade arrested Perdue on Jan. 15, 2026.
Perdue was charged with felony burglary in the third degree, felony grand larceny in the third degree, possession of burglar’s tools and criminal mischief in the fourth degree.
He was transported to the Livingston County Jail for processing and pre-arraignment detention.
Perdue was arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part before Town of York Justice Koch.
The judge remanded Perdue to the custody of the sheriff without the possibility of bail due to him having two or more prior felony convictions.
The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office represented Perdue at the arraignment.
The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office represented the People.
