AUBURN, ME — A multi-agency vehicle pursuit ended with five arrests on Thursday morning after a stolen vehicle fled from police through multiple communities.

The Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a motor vehicle pursuit at approximately 7:42 a.m. on Jan. 16, 2026.

The pursuit began after an officer with the Lewiston Police Department located a vehicle that had been reported stolen from Saco earlier that morning.

Deputies intercepted the pursuit on Main Street in Lewiston.

The chase continued back into Auburn, where the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office assumed primary responsibility.

During the pursuit, the fleeing vehicle was involved in two motor vehicle crashes—first at the intersection of Turner and Court Streets, and later on Academy Street.

Despite these collisions, the vehicle continued to flee until Corporal Dylan Morin successfully terminated the pursuit on Rockhill Avenue in Auburn.

Five occupants were apprehended from the vehicle, including three juveniles and two adults.

The operator was a 17-year-old male from Saco who was transported to the Long Creek Youth Development Center.

He faces charges of Violation of Juvenile Probation, Reckless Conduct with a Dangerous Weapon, and Eluding, all felony offenses.

Passenger Jazya Swan, 18, of South Portland, was charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Violating Conditions of Release, and Theft by Receiving Stolen Property.

Swan is currently being held at the Androscoggin County Jail on $750 cash bail.

A 15-year-old female was charged with Unauthorized Use of Property and released to a family member.

A 17-year-old male and an 18-year-old female were charged with civil liquor violations and subsequently released.

The Auburn Police Department and the Maine Warden Service assisted during the incident.

The investigation has determined that the suspects were involved in burglaries of motor vehicles in Portland.

Deputies have notified and are working with the Portland Police Department, and additional charges are expected.

Earlier that morning, the Saco Police Department received a report from the vehicle’s owner stating the vehicle, a gray 2024 Ford Maverick, had been stolen from his residence.

Saco Police later observed the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, at which time the vehicle failed to stop.
