Man arrested on burglary charge in Norwich

NORWICH, NY — A Norwich man was arrested Jan. 8 on burglary and larceny charges after allegedly stealing from a business he had been banned from entering.

Thomas A. Brown, 37, of Norwich, was charged with third-degree burglary, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and petit larceny.

Deputies responded to a business in the town of Norwich for a larceny complaint.

During the investigation, deputies determined Brown had stolen items from the business and had previously been trespassed from the location.

Brown was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance at the time of his arrest.

Brown was transported to the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office for processing.

He was arraigned in Centralized Arraignment and released on his own recognizance.
