Man arrested in hit-and-run crash in Smithfield

SMITHFIELD, RI — State Police arrested a Pawtucket man following a hit-and-run crash on Route 146 on Jan. 9.

Troopers arrested Sean Cardoso, 35, of Pawtucket, at 9:10 p.m. on a charge of leaving the scene of an accident to attended vehicle.

Troopers responded to the scene of the hit-and-run motor vehicle accident on Route 146 and conducted a subsequent residence check for the suspect.

Cardoso was transported to the State Police Lincoln Woods Barracks where he was processed and arraigned by a Justice of the Peace.

He was released with a future Sixth District Court date.

In a separate incident, troopers arrested Renee Marinaro, 46, of Cumberland, at 11:56 p.m. following a motor vehicle stop on Route 6 in Johnston.

Marinaro was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor, first offense, BAC unknown, and refusal to submit to a chemical breath test, first offense.

She was transported to State Police Headquarters where she was processed and arraigned by a Justice of the Peace.

Marinaro was released into the custody of a responsible adult.
