Fire under investigation in Ellsworth

ELLSWORTH, ME — The Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating an intentionally set fire at a vacant home.

The Ellsworth Fire Department responded to 384 Water Street at approximately 5:50 p.m. Wednesday for a structure fire.

The vacant single-family residence sustained minor fire damage.

The Fire Marshal’s Office was called to investigate the origin and cause of the fire.

The fire has been classified as incendiary.

Investigators are asking residents in the area who have security or surveillance cameras to review their footage for any activity that may be relevant to the investigation.
