NEWARK, NJ — Law enforcement officials seized 12 kilograms of fentanyl during a joint operation on Dec. 29.
The operation was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations Newark Office in partnership with the Pompton Lakes Police Department.
Authorities estimate the fentanyl has a potential street value in the tens of millions of dollars.
Detective Zaku of Pompton Lakes, who is currently assigned to HSI, served as one of the lead detectives in the investigation.
The investigation remains ongoing.
