Two arrested after stolen vehicle recovery in Naugatuck

NAUGATUCK, CT — Two men were arrested Jan. 13 after detectives recovered a stolen BMW sedan in the area of High Street.

Naugatuck detectives were proactively searching for stolen motor vehicles when they observed a gray BMW sedan matching the description of a vehicle recently stolen from the Fairfield County area.

Police observed Dominik Marini, 22, of Naugatuck, and Kyzhon Blanc, 20, of Bridgeport, exit the vehicle and walk away.

A short time later, detectives observed the pair walking back toward the car and detained both men.

Blanc provided police with a counterfeit driver’s license, according to police.

Marini, a convicted felon recently released on parole stemming from a previous motor vehicle theft, was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle and conspiracy to commit larceny of a motor vehicle.

He was held on a $50,000 surety bond and arraigned in Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 14.

A remand to custody order from parole was also issued for Marini.

Blanc was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle second offense, conspiracy to commit larceny of a motor vehicle second offense, forgery in the second degree and operating a motor vehicle without a license.

He was held on a $50,000 surety bond and arraigned at Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 14.

Blanc also had two active warrants for violation of probation and failure to appear, which were served while he was in custody.
