Man arrested on weapon charge in Cortlandville

CORTLANDVILLE, NY — A 41-year-old man was arrested on felony weapon possession charges following a reported assault at a residence.

Tommy L. Greene, of McGraw, was taken into custody at 10:58 p.m. on Jan. 12, 2026, according to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office.

Officers were dispatched to a residence in the town at approximately 7:48 p.m. for a reported assault.

Investigators determined Greene engaged in a physical altercation with a known victim and a weapon became involved during the altercation, according to the sheriff’s office.

Greene was located and arrested, then transported to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office for processing.

He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, a felony, as well as menacing in the third degree, a misdemeanor, and harassment in the second degree, a violation.

Greene was arraigned through the Centralized Arraignment Process at 8 a.m. on Jan. 13, 2026.

He was remanded to the Cortland County Jail without bail.

Greene’s next scheduled court appearance is in the Town of Cortlandville Court on Jan. 21, 2026, at 11:30 a.m.
