Three arrested in stolen vehicle investigation in Waterbury

WATERBURY, CT — Three men were arrested Jan. 12, 2026, after police located a stolen BMW in the city.

Officers from the Waterbury Police Department’s Auto Theft Task Force and Vice and Intelligence Unit were investigating a black 2021 BMW 430i Convertible reported stolen from New Canaan.

Officers located the BMW parked and occupied near 256 Perkins Avenue.

As officers attempted a motor vehicle stop, the driver and passenger exited the vehicle simultaneously.

The passenger, Kevin Webster, 22, of Waterbury, was quickly apprehended.

The driver, Christain Almeida-Palomba, 21, of Waterbury, fled on foot but was apprehended after a brief pursuit.

A third suspect, Josiah Hardy, 19, of Waterbury, was found inside the vehicle and was apprehended without incident.

Almeida-Palomba was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle, interfering with an officer, improper use of marker plate and illegal operation of a motor vehicle under suspension.

Hardy was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle.

Webster was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle and interfering with an officer.
