Woman arrested on forgery charge in Hamilton County

LAKE PLEASANT, NY — A woman was arrested following a long-term investigation into fraudulent use of government benefits.

Necia C. Franolich, 40, of Patterson, was arrested Dec. 17 and charged with second-degree forgery, a class D felony.

Franolich was also charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, misuse of food stamps, fifth-degree welfare fraud, third-degree forgery and petit larceny.

The arrest followed an investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, Hamilton County Department of Social Services and Hamilton County District Attorney’s Office into the fraudulent application and use of SNAP benefits and food stamps.

Franolich was processed and released on an appearance ticket to return to Indian Lake Town Court.
