MORIAH, NY — New York State Police charged a Mineville man with multiple offenses following a domestic dispute on Jan. 12, 2026.
James Cirrincione, 38, of Mineville, faces charges of assault in the 3rd degree, criminal mischief, aggravated family offense and criminal contempt in the 2nd degree.
Troopers responded to Plank Road at approximately 10:05 p.m. for a reported domestic dispute.
An investigation determined that Cirrincione and the victim were involved in an argument that escalated into a physical altercation.
Cirrincione bit the victim, causing a laceration, according to police.
As the victim attempted to leave the residence to contact law enforcement, Cirrincione damaged property.
Police determined that a valid refrain-from order of protection was in effect, protecting the victim from Cirrincione.
Cirrincione was arrested and transported to State Police High Peaks for processing.
He was remanded to the Essex County Jail on a pre-arraignment hold.
Cirrincione is scheduled to appear in the Town of Moriah Court.
